Scary Tokina 16-50/2.8 Official Sample Photos

The twin-born lens of the Pentax DA* 16-50/2.8, the Tokina ATX Pro 165 DX's official sample photos have been out:-

However, these are some of the most scary sample photos I have ever seen, in terms of the image quality, technically, no matter it is official or not.

All in all, I must agree that these are with "totally embarassing technical quality" and "the most ridiculous photo sample presentation ever" as Klaus Schroiff and other folks thought and discussed here.

BTW, do note that the sample pictures were taken with a Fuji S3 Pro, which should be a very good DSLR in terms of image quality. The images were up-sampled to 12MP, though. To view in the original 6MP native resolution of the Fuji SuperCCD, one can view at 70% to see if the evils are still there!

C'mon. Maybe the lens are terrible, maybe not. The thread you refer to has a response from Klaus and other folks that says that the sample pictures from 12-24 lens that they regard highly were also terrible that leads to believe that it very well may have been the photographer's fault. It's okay to raise issues with Pentax but you gotta be fair and honest in how you do it.

I don't think the photographer could "create" by himsself, solely, for such terrible photos, technical-wise. Enough said.

As for my fairness and honesty, I shall leave all people who read here to judge. BTW, I have included all the relevant original URLs, haven't I?

Judging by the sample given by Pentax of the DA* 50-135/2.8, these samples are surely the result of a bad photographer. One can have the best camera in the world with the best glass in the world, and still take bad pictures. Heck, I've even seen great pictures taken with a disposable camera. (Benjamin Kanarek, google the name if you don't know who it is, did a complete photo shoot once with disposables, and they turned out great)

  4. How come a "poor photographer" could change the *image quality* of the pictures? Moreover, do pls remember those are official samples, from Tokina.
